Whenever my parents come into town, it’s always a good time! I go to Indio (about 25 minutes south of Palm Springs) at least once a year, and had been begging them to come check it out for themselves because I knew they’d love it (I was right, of course).
We stayed at the WorldMark Indio, which has a massive pool, a lazy river, mountain views, large ponds and waterfalls, full size kitchens in all the units and tons of grills to cook out. I L-O-V-E the lazy river! Because what’s better than floating in a big inner tube with a cocktail in hand and the sun shining on your face?
It was a minimum of 100 degrees every day, so I made sure to bring lots of dessert friendly, lightweight items to keep me cool. I’m so excited to share a few of my favorite styles from the trip! Prepare for lots of prints and bright colors.
Palm Springs Style 1: Tropical Print Dress
How fun is this dress?! I love a good floral print, and this dress has floral, pineapple and palm print, so it was a no-brainer!
This tropical number is super flattering and showcases your body in all the right places. It was extremely comfortable, and could be dressed up or down. I paired it with a fun straw hat, red beaded bracelet (got mine from Italy while studying abroad), yellow tassel earrings, a red crossbody bag and the cutest Jeffrey Campbell dupes (under $40)!
This look is prefect for a day at the beach, lunch with your boo thang or a tropical vacation. I am wearing a large for reference.
Palm Springs Style 2: Spotted One Piece with Watermelon Wrap
Nothing says summer quite like watermelon, am I right?! I saw this wrap online and immediately had to get it. I’m not sure if it’s the sweet, juicy taste or the bright red/pink color, but I’ve always loved watermelons.
Paired this watermelon wrap with a watermelon tote, hot pink tassel earrings, and the cutest spotted one-piece swimsuit which provided a beautiful contrast. My cat eye sunnies are a Quay dupe and are under $10!
Palm Springs Style 3: Floral Maxi at That Pink Door
I may or may not have planned this final outfit around this pink door (aka #thatpinkdoor) in Palm Springs. I also may or may not have requested a small detour for this photo op on the way back to Los Angeles from Indio….but it was totally worth it!
This iconic door is even more beautiful in person, and was the perfect backdrop for this super feminine floral maxi wrap dress (any my parents’ adorable tourist wear). My maxi is extremely lightweight, and I just love the bow-tie detail on the waist.
